چکیده
The accuracy and validation of geo‐ thermochronological dating hinges on the availability well‐characterised age reference materials. Mesoproterozoic gabbroic anorthosite FC1 from Duluth Complex, Minnesota is a material for zircon U‐Pb suggested apatite fission‐track dating. We evaluate as (U‐Th)/He material, determine its U‐Pb, age. Our results constrain thermal history FC1, showing that fast cooling occurred between ~ 1099 1040 Ma ≥ 600 °C to 200 °C. data air‐abraded grains give robust isochron 1037 ± 25 (2 s ) without overdispersion. within‐grain homogeneity U Th, zircon, absence radiation‐damage effects support use material. Unabraded lower more dispersed ages, highlighting usefulness air abrasion control α‐ejection in (U‐Th‐Sm)/He single‐grain ages vary 180 300 Ma. Their wide dispersion argues against makes interpretation their low‐temperature complicated.

Cosmogenic and nucleogenic He in apatite, titanite, and zircon
Cosmogenic He was measured in apatite, titanite, and zircon and cosmogenic Ne in quartz at 13 depth intervals in a 2.7-m long drill core in a Miocene ignimbrite from the Altiplano of Bolivia. All three He depth profiles as well as the Ne profile attenuate exponentially with depth, indicating that both of these isotopes are cosmogenic in origin with no significant contribution from other sources...
متن کاملDating of Precambrian Metasedimentary Rocks and Timing of their Metamorphism in the Soursat Metamorphic Complex (NW IRAN): Using LA–ICP-MS, U–Pb Dating of Zircon and Monazite
Soursat Metamorphic Complex (SMC) in west of Takab city is one of the polyphase metamorphic terrenes in northern Sanandaj-Sirjan metamorphic belt of Iran. The SMC composed mainly of metasedimentary rocks associated with granitic intrusions. Based on metamorphic rocks, two metamorphic phases could be separate in the complex. M1 is representative of regional metamorphisms which varies from greens...
متن کاملZircon, titanite, and apatite (U-Th)/He ages and age-eU correlations from the Fennoscandian Shield, southern Sweden
Craton cores far from plate boundaries have traditionally been viewed as stable features that experience minimal vertical motion over 100–1000 Ma time scales. Here we show that the Fennoscandian Shield in southeastern Sweden experienced several episodes of burial and exhumation from ~1800 Ma to the present. Apatite, titanite, and zircon (U-Th)/He ages from surface samples and drill cores constr...
متن کاملPlio-Quaternary exhumation history of the central Nepalese Himalaya: 1. Apatite and zircon fission track and apatite [U-Th]/He analyses
[1] New apatite and zircon fission track and (U-Th)/He analyses serve to document the bedrock cooling history of the central Nepalese Himalaya near the Annapurna Range. We have obtained 82 apatite fission track (AFT), 7 zircon fission track (ZFT), and 7 apatite (U-Th)/He (AHe) ages from samples collected along the Marsyandi drainage, including eight vertical relief profiles from ridges on eithe...
